Telkari is a Turkish traditional silver art. This kind of jewelry consists of extremely thin silver wires assembled and soldered by hand. Telkari works are extremely rare even in Turkey and produced usually on demand by dedicated authentic jewellery makers. These are not sold at everyday's market places.
With the recent increase of raw silver prices in 2006 Turkish silversmith stopped the production of these items that involve too much craftsmanship, so they may no longer be available in the future. Filtered out since more than three thousand years of Anatolian civilisations, handicrafts from Turkey stand out with their quality. They are made by Suryanis who are the few number of Christians live in Mardin, southeastern part of Turkey.
